Lifting The Lid On The Rockbrat Treasure Chest: Cheap Trick Gig Posters

Cheap Trick Gig Posters (2 and 3 December 1988)

Like any true rock geek, souveniring a gig or band poster from a telegraph pole on a suburban Sydney street seemed, well – perfectly normal. Over the years I’d amassed quite a collection. This activity could actually be quite hazardous – especially if the pole was on an off-ramp from the Sydney Harbour Bridge ! Some of my collection did not stand the test of time, other’s have been sold, but some – like these two – I have hung onto. I have blogged about Cheap Trick elsewhere on this site and will continue to do so as they are a major musical influence on the Rockbrat ! They had toured earlier in 1988 and had tasted a resurgence in popularity – especially in Australia. Two Sydney shows at the Coogee Bay Hotel in early December were booked and were (as we used to say in the 70’s) bloody unreal. Don’t believe me ? Go view the ‘Cheap Trick: Live In Australia’ DVD and judge for yourself.
