John Cameron Mitchell Australian Tour 2018

JCM_Banner-1Currently on tour across Australia, Tony Award winning, Golden Globe nominated co-creator of Hedwig and the Angry Inch John Cameron Mitchell takes the stage, singing songs from the ground-breaking rock musical and subversive cult film. This is a show you don’t wanna miss!

Regaling audiences between sets with intimate, eye-opening, and at times devilishly funny anecdotes, he invites audiences to share his personal experiences over two decades of living with Hedwig. In a real treat for hardcore fans and newcomers alike, he’ll also play new material from his upcoming musical podcast Anthem.

The Hedwig And the Angry Inch movie from 2001 is a fantastic rock film, with an array of memorable glam pop songs littered throughout.  John Cameron Mitchell’s performance  in Hedwig is compelling – yet its the songs of Stephen Trask that give him the room to interpret them so well. Trask’s real-life band Cheater performed as Hedwig’s band “The Angry Inch” in the movie.  Trask was the music director and house band member at the New York club Squeezebox, where he performed with artists such as Debbie Harry, Lene Lovich and Joey Ramone.

Be sure to grab a ticket and see John Cameron Mitchell bring to life Hedwig in stage and song.
