Ty Coates’ Bombers and Rose Carleo Band: set to deliver a double shot of rock!

If loud, thumping, blues-based rock be your thing, then be at The Bridge Hotel in Sydney on the 18th April – as Ty Coates’ Bombers and The Rose Carleo Band deliver a double-barrelled blast of roaring, first-rate rock n roll.

Coates was front man and vocalist for late 80’s outfit The Bombers – a super-charged, hard rock unit featuring John Brewster (The Angels) and the formidable rhythm pair of Alan Lancaster and John Coghlin (Status Quo). Blues whiz Steve Crofts rounded out the unit on lead guitar.  The Bombers would leave behind a bunch of great singles and one full length album, ‘Aim High’ before calling it a day.

In early 2020, Coates selected some talented local musicians before resurrecting The Bombers name. ‘Ty Coates’ Bombers’ features acclaimed blues-rock guitarist Christina Crofts, drummer Ryan Mathison and bassist Mick Carter.  Last year, Ty Coates’ Bombers released their debut album – a ten-track outing titled ‘Man Down’.

Sharing the bill are the highly acclaimed Rose Carleo Band. Since their inception a few years back, Carleo and Co. have amassed a live set brimming with hook-laden songs. Their ‘Battle Scars’ EP from 2018 earned high praise with the title track entering the iTunes Top 20 Rock Charts. The powerful-sounding Carleo is backed by some Australian rock n roll royalty in Mick Adkins (guitar), Steve King (Bass) and Mick O’Shea (Drums) – whose resumes include time in Rose Tattoo, Bitzer, Rogue Sharks, Pete Wells Band and Judge Mercy among others ! A double shot of rock not to be missed!
